Are we prepared to contact an extraterrestrial intelligence?

The knowledge that the educated public has of the cosmos and of our place in it is still scarce.
Astrophysicists like Stephen Hawking have already warned of the risk that this poses for humanity, as it could favor the arrival of beings with more advanced technology and dubious intentions. As for our relationship with a possible extraterrestrial intelligent life, we should not rely onmoral referents of thought, since these patterns are highly influenced by religion. Are we prepared to contact an extraterrestrial intelligence?

The knowledge that the educated public has of the cosmos and of our place in it is still scarce.
Why should more intelligent beings be 'good'As a species, humanity is not yet ready to actively try to contact a supposed alien civilization, as there is a lack of knowledge and training among people. For this reason, SETI researchers are encouraged to seek alternative strategies.
Therefore, a cosmic consciousness must be promoted more - where our mind is increasingly aware of the global reality that surrounds us - through the best tool we have: education.
In this sense, we need a new Galileo to open this path.
The rest of society is unaware of many astronomical aspects, despite the enormous advances in science and technology. It is also revealed that most people judge these issues based on their religious beliefs and that they would trust politicians in the event that a major global crisis had to be resolved.
